This module covers the details of our curriculum and syllabus structure as guided by the NCDC.

Upper Primary

At Imperial Academy Primary School (IAPS), we are dedicated to providing a high-quality education that prepares our students for academic success and personal growth.

We follow the national curriculum as defined by the Ugandan National Curriculum Development Center (NCDC), ensuring that our students receive a well-rounded and comprehensive education.

Thematic

In our thematic levels, we continue to provide a stimulating and engaging learning environment for students in primary one to primary three.

Thematic teaching allows for an integrated approach to learning, where subjects are connected through central themes or topics. Key features of our thematic levels include:

1. Integrated Learning

Connecting various subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies through overarching themes.

Encouraging cross-curricular connections and deeper understanding of concepts.

2. Inquiry-Based Approach

Promoting curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through inquiry-based learning strategies.

Encouraging students to ask questions, explore ideas, and actively engage in their learning process.

3. Project-Based Learning

Engaging students in hands-on projects that require research, collaboration, and presentation skills.

Allowing students to apply their knowledge and skills to real-world situations.

4. Language Development

Building strong reading, writing, and oral communication skills through targeted language activities.

Kindergarten

Our kindergarten program is designed for children aged 3 to 5 years, providing a supportive and inclusive environment where they can develop their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills.

We follow age-appropriate teaching methodologies that encourage active exploration and play-based learning. Key aspects of our kindergarten program include:

1. Early Literacy and Numeracy

Introduction to letters, phonics, and pre-reading skills to develop early literacy.

Basic numeracy concepts such as counting, number recognition, and simple mathematical operations.

2. Creative Expression

Encouraging self-expression and creativity through art, music, and storytelling activities.

Developing fine motor skills through drawing, coloring, and other hands-on activities

3. Social and Emotional Development

Fostering social skills, cooperation, empathy, and self-confidence through group activities and play.

Building positive relationships with peers and teachers to promote a sense of belonging.

4. Physical Development

Engaging in age-appropriate physical activities, such as outdoor play, games, and motor skill development exercises.

FAQs

1. When can I get a fees discount?

Discounts are available on multiple children of the same family, depending on their number and age.

Discounts are also available on early school fees payments, depending on for how far in the future the payment has been made.

2. Is admission always open?

If by "things" you mean questions, then the site administrator, Kalungi Isaac, single-handedly adds, removes and edits the questions. He also manages the application in general.

3. Can I get financial assistance?

Questions are added daily, weekly or monthly depending on the necessity and how lacking a particular subject is.

Users can also request for questions by topic. They can even go as far as requesting for specific questions.
